Upcoming Programs:

Sunday, March 30 at 11 a.m. — Beth Breslin (viola) and Yaniv Dinur (piano)

Brahms’ dramatic and moody Viola Sonata was originally written for the clarinet. Schubert’s lyrical masterpiece was originally written for the now-extinct Arpeggione (a kind of cello-guitar hybrid) and nowadays is commonly performed on the viola. English composer Rebecca Clarke wrote her beautiful, impressionistic piece under the pseudonym “Anthony Trent,” fearing prejudice for being a woman composer. Pianist Yaniv Dinur and Milwaukee Symphony Violist Beth Breslin collaborate on a program full of beauty and masked identities.

  • Clarke - Morpheus

  • Schubert - Sonata D821 "Arpeggione"
