About the Event
Dale Sievert’s passion is moss. His celebrated one-acre property in Wisconsin includes several shade gardens containing 700 hostas and perennials. He has many moss gardens, a Japanese-style garden, a cactus and succulent garden, a sunken garden, a hillside garden, and a Williamsburg-inspired formal garden. Five thousand antique bricks and 2,000 antique cobblestones were used for walks and planters. All trees are deciduous in order to blend with nearby wooded area.
Dale is also a talented landscape photographer and a retired college professor. He has visited 111countries and found ideas for his own garden in many of them. His 3-part lecture will discuss mosses for the Wisconsin garden, a few gardens around the world that have inspired him on his gardening journey, and a photographic tour of his gardens which were recently featured in the book Garden to the Max by Teresa Woodard.
