About the Event
Jens Jensen: The Living Green
Documentary Film, with Landscape Historian Virginia Small
Danish-born Jens Jensen was the landscape architect of many parks and gardens, including the Ford Estates and as superintendent of the Chicago Parks System. Jensen is known for the Prairie Style landscape and his many collaborations with architects such as Frank Llyod Wright and Loius Sullivan. This film documents Jensen’s ideas on eco-justice, livable cities, and the power of landscape connecting people to place.
Landscape Historian Virginia Small will introduce the film and host the Q& A session, sharing highlights from her recent lectures on Jensen for the Danish American Society and the American Society of Landscape Architects.
